Tips to Change Subaru Crosstrek Headlight Bulbs to LEDs

1, Pop open the hood of your Subaru with the hood release lever located under the left side of the steering wheel and hold it open.

3, Look under the bumper with a headlight. Find the two clips that connect the bottom of the bumper to the car’s chassis. Remove them by turning them counterclockwise with the flat head screwdriver then pulling out the clips with your fingers.

4, Find the three clips that secure the bumper to the car’s chassis on the driver’s side on the steering wheel-well next to the rim. Remove them by turning them counterclockwise with the flat head screwdriver then pulling out the clips with your fingers.

5, Locate the three clips that secure the bumper to the passenger-side vehicle chassis on the wheel well next to the tire. Remove them by turning them counterclockwise with the flat head screwdriver then pulling out the clips with your fingers.

6, Insert a screwdriver into the hole where the far left clip that held the top of the bumper to the engine compartment was located in Step 2. Leave the screwdriver there to prevent the bumper from falling out of the car when you pry it up. rear chassis.

7, Insert another screwdriver into the hole where the far-right clip that held the top of the bumper to the engine compartment was located in Step 2. Leave this screwdriver there to prevent the bumper from falling off the car when you pry it off the chassis. later.

8, Pry the bumper off the chassis starting with the wheels well off, your driver working around the bumper.

9, Ask a friend to remove the two screwdrivers from Steps 6 and 7 while you are holding the bumper. Slowly lower yourself to the ground.

10, Locate the five screws that secure the car headlight and unscrew them with the flat-head screwdriver in a counterclockwise direction.

11, Remove the headlight assembly and disconnect the electrical wiring clips manually. Be sure to note where each clip was attached for later installation.

12, Slide the new headlight assembly onto the chassis and reconnect the clips based on your notations made in Step 11.

13, Replace the five screws that secure the headlight to the Subaru car chassis.

14, Hold the bumper and align it with the chassis and molded body of the car. Have your friend insert a screwdriver into two of the clip holes where the bumper attaches to the engine compartment. This will hold to the stop so you can reattach the clips.

15, Replace the 14 clips that start with the wheel wells. Rotate each clip clockwise with the flat-head screwdriver to secure it in place.

16, Close the hood.
